Prison Ministry

Members of the fire of God ministries have been serving in this prison for approximately 8 years under other unbrella churches.  It is in this place we go minister to convicts in their bondage habitat. They have two sides to this prison.  One is called the SCI side and the other is called the camp side. The SCI side is for inmates that can not leave the premises at all.  The camp side is for people who can leave the premises.  This is a government correctional facility with government rules and we minister here and so do many other religious organizations. This causes issues because God hates religion and there is no agreement to the words being spoken.

There are several different religious organizations represented in this prison such as muslim, buddhism, jehovah witness, hindu and even catholic to name a few. Many of these organizations say and do what they can to gain recruits to their way of belief.   There is a vast array of teachings and so we are under a constant battle because of the untruth taught to the inmates and this causes discord and non unity in this place and lots of confusion.  The governmental contol tells us that they are happy to let us minister to the inmates and say that Jesus does more good then any psychological couselor or any of the other religious teachings.  Because of this, we gain favor from them but have a continual battle because of false religions.  This very thing is a true testimony to Jesus Christ. In the midst of all this, we see people set free from the chains of the bondages of addictions and anger. We see lives transformed by the work and power of Jesus Christ but we also have many come against us to get us kicked out or try use up our time and promote their own ministry. In America, eveyone has rights but the true believers rights seem to be diminishing. On the SCI side, a lot of the inmates have hit rock bottom and come to us hungry for truth.  They compain that these other people are eating up our time and fight this battle for us… so we dont have to confront it as much.  We see many changed but many do return to old ways due to confusion caused by the other teachings from all the differnt religions. It is a display of how mixing religions does not work. Confution and religion gives the enemy room to try to comer in and to destroy souls.

On the camp side, the people can come and go as they please and are on vacation and don’t seem to have as much desire to turn their lives around. It is like Paul and his Damascus moment.   Many have not come to that low moment where they find the only way is Jesus. We see  this trend in the camp side but find it in churches as well. We still go and preach to find the few who are hungry to receive what God has for them and try to do our part to preach the gosple so they have heard the truth.
