A Call To Stand and A Call To Pray
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
It is from scripture that we find Israel as the nation of God, a chosen nation. We can see blessings for those who stand with them and curses for those who stand against them. In Genesis 12:1-3, the Lord had said to Abram, ‘Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.“
We see in Deuteronomy 7:6-7 that they are set apart as a holy nation and in Genesis 15:8 that God made a covenant with them.
We as a Gentile nation have been grafted into the nation of Israel, the olive tree. According to Mathew 15:24, that is the physical nation chosen by God. It is by the Holy Spiritthat we as Gentiles may be grafted into that nation and it’s blessings. When we look at Romans 11:1, we see God speaking to both the physical Israel and the grafted spiritual Israel. The people of Israel are our brothers and sisters. If we turn our backs on them, we turn our backs on the chosen nation of God and our heritage as decendants from Jacob. Romans 9: 30 and 10:31 show how God feels and why we are grafted in, set in motion before the beginning of time.
It is in prophecy where we read that Israel becomes a troublesome nation. If we as individual or we as a nation turn our backs on them, we lose the blessings promised by God.
We at Fire of God Ministries believe very heavily in the stance that we must and want to back Israel. We believe that any burden of theirs is a burden of ours due to how God feels about the Nation of Israel and the promises he made with them and to those who support them and those who do not.
